UPDATE: Added Shadow (animated version at my site), Marionette, rejected Darkstalker design Ruby Heart and that kid from the ill-fated Saturday morning cartoon show.

So they're planning a remake.. in 3D of course, which makes me wonder where Capcom's old crew of pixel artists & animators are now, and what their asking prices start at.

Excellent job on the CPS3-esque sprites here! I really like how you included every single character in the series to date as well as two guest characters (i.e. Ruby Heart and the unnamed school kid)!

Nice job! :D I like how they look close to the same sprites but are different too in small ways. Adding that kid from the cartoon show was a nice touch xD

Many thanks -- many of those sprites are based off of promo art for the game, and the kid's there as a subtle reminder to Capcom about being more careful with their licensing

pfft haha xD I can't hate on the crap American cartoon too much though. The Lord Raptor Rap makes me laugh so hard I cry every time I see that.

Alright, I will say that the music for that show was made with more love than the art.

haha I'm also a weirdo who thinks the show is so bad it's hilarious. Except the episode with "Hairball" :| When you have a character who's more annoying than the annoying useless kid...oh man...

Oh and good news for anyone who is interested, Capcom plans on re-releasing Darkstalkers 2 and 3 in 2013 before the release of 4 later on.

I can see why Ruby was rejected. Doesn't seem like Darkstalker material, nevertheless good character design.

Also, I can see some banding Taliban's(I think that's his name, bruce lee werewolf?) on his arm and head. Other than that, good stuff Kiwi.
